We clarify who to contact, how contact should be made, and when notification of absence must be made. We also provide clarity regarding methods for dealing with frequent absenteeism. Reintegration Services

Our goal is always to prevent long-term absence and facilitate a quick and responsible return to work. The occupational health advisor considers the possibilities for return to work for your employee. For instance by making suggestions on how to adjust the workplace or looking for other work in or outside your organization. We investigate which steps the employer and employee can take to help the employee return to work. Our advice is recorded in a concrete reintegration plan with clearly laid out follow-up steps.

COVID Testing

Medwork offers quick and easy COVID testing services for travel and non-travel purposes. To access Medwork’s COVID testing services, simply walk in to our clinic during our testing hours. No appointment is necessary.

Testing Hours:
8:00am - 12:00pm
12:30pm - 3:30pm

Testing for Travel Purposes:
Rapid antigen test for US$50; results emailed in 15-30 minutes

Testing for Non-travel Purposes:
You may require a COVID test for your job, to attend an event, because you have symptoms and want to know, etc.
Rapid antigen test for US$30; results ready in 15 minutes-1 hour.

Employer Based COVID Testing

Prevent a COVID outbreak by bringing Medwork’s COVID testing service directly to your workplace!

Medwork has combined its expertise in Occupational Health, Public Health and COVID Testing to bring this service directly to our clients. Our employer-based COVID testing service begins with advising on the implementation of policies and procedures of your internal testing program suited for your organizational needs.

Medwork then provides comprehensive training for select staff members that will include:

  1. Correct use of tests

  2. Interpretation of results

  3. Reporting procedures and obligations

Medwork manages logistics for sourcing and ordering testing supplies that provide reliable, accurate test results.

Once the program is initiated, Medwork remains available to advise, troubleshoot and answer any questions you may have.

Insurance Medicine & Regulatory Compliance

Insurance Medicine, is about the capability of an employee to perform his or her contractual work and specializes in determining long term physical and mental limitation of employees. In addition, insurance doctors shall be employed to assess the extent to which insured persons are entitled to benefits on the basis of private occupational disability insurance after long-term or permanent work outages. If applicable a remaining capacity will be indicated and advice on suitable or appropriate work will be given. Our aim is to reach a win-win situation for employees and employer.

Occupational Psychology

For mental health and well-being, our Occupational Health Psychology services explore interventions targeting employees as well as work environments. They help to create healthier employees, workplaces, and organizations, while protecting employee’s health and maximizing their overall effectiveness. They apply methods of psychology to issues of critical relevance to business, including talent management, coaching, assessment, selection, training, organizational development, performance, well-being and work-life balance. Their aim is to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction at work.

Coaching

Reintegration Coaching is a value added service in the field of Occupational Health, that assists employees in their return to work after long term absenteeism. By guiding employees through every step, in building their capacity to eventual full functionality, the chance of relapse decreases. In the long run, this outcome is mutually beneficial for both employer and employee.

A Reintegration Coach guides employees in various areas of absenteeism, depending on each individual's specific situation. This can be through physical exercise, mental coaching, support in selfcare or otherwise. The ultimate goal is always to return to the workplace with full functionality and minimal risk of relapse. A Reintegration Coach monitors the process, is a counselor and confidant for the employee, and a link between employer and employee.

Medwork now offers, tailor-made programs for Reintegration Coaching services. Prior to beginning counseling, the Reintegration Coach will discuss the current situation with the employer and employee, determine what the desired end result is and establish the appropriate plan of action to achieve it. Based on the needs of the employer and employee, a schedule will be agreed upon for the coaching sessions. Coaching appointments will take place in various locations and scenarios: in person, at our office, at home, via videocall, at the employees workplace or alternative locations. Progress will be regularly evaluated during the process and adjustments will be made if necessary.

Labor Expert

Our Labor Expert identifies the employment possibilities and employability of an employee who is otherwise deemed as incapacitated for work (a sick employee, for example). They provide professional feedback on the employee's options in utilizing residual capacity in labor by means of the occupational health survey. The expert assesses and determines what possible functionality still exists, so that the employee can return safely to his or her own work as quickly as possible.

Human Performance Evaluations

In order to customize our services, we offer a wide array of medical evaluations, including the following exams: pre-employment, re-occurring, legally mandated, and preventive. Evaluations can determine if a person can be considered physically fit enough to be able to perform duties in a safe and healthy manner. We evaluate if a person is suffering from illness or disability as a consequence of work. We understand that the employer wants to provide safe and healthy working conditions and therefore offers employees regular, overall health checks.

Corporate Social Worker

Our corporate social worker will support you in solving bottlenecks arising from work-related situations and/or from the private situation. This may include disrupted employment relationships, reorganizations, major events or personal problems that affect work.

The added value of corporate social work lies in the activation of employees with the aim of increasing the motivation and employability of employees. The corporate social worker looks for solutions in close collaboration with the manager and the company doctor. The company doctor is involved, if necessary, to manage any medical problems in a timely manner. The employee is helped by the corporate social worker to gain insight into his/her problems. Employees are encouraged to actively deal with the problems and to take their own responsibility in looking for solutions.
